At the height of Dr. Meena McCullough's cycling career, she was suddenly struck with pain throughout her body. Multiple doctors couldn't agree on a diagnosis, suggesting everything from early-onset arthritis to fibromyalgia, lupus, and Lyme disease. Despite the challenges, she was determined to find relief. This marked the beginning of her journey towards discovering Body Spring and the PressEX Method.

Her own pain led Dr. Meena to pursue physical therapy. Despite the pain in her hips and legs, she graduated with the support of her boyfriend, Nathan. She had to wear slippers due to the intense pain. This moment fueled her determination to find effective solutions for chronic pain, eventually leading to the creation of Body Spring.

Traditional physical therapy methods failed Dr.Meena until a PT used a fascia technique that instantly relieved her pain. Discovering fascia through 'Anatomy Trains' changed everything. She was shocked this crucial element was missing from her PT education. This newfound knowledge set the stage for creating Body Spring and the innovative PressEX Method.

With the support of Nathan, stepdad Michael, mother Janice, and friend Michael Doke, Dr. Meena developed prototypes to treat her own fascia at home. These experiments led to the creation of the PressEX System. She became her own first patient, testing and refining the method. PressEX was born from her dedication and personal experience, forming a core component of Body Spring's offerings.

Feeling better, Dr. Meena pursued her bucket list, starting with ballroom dancing. She enrolled in a salsa class and later competed in international Latin dance. This new activity symbolized her commitment to living life fully. It was a testament to the effectiveness of the PressEX Method developed under Body Spring.

With the help of Zach Hilton and engineer Dat Vo, Dr. Meena patented the PressEX Bar. She learned 3D printing and manufacturing techniques, eventually inventing eight other products. It marked a significant milestone in making PressEX widely available through Body Spring.

From Dr. McCullough's journey with investigating pain, fascia, athletics, and training her own body, she came up with the name Body Spring. This concept is based on 'elastic recoil,' where the body stores and releases energy like a spring. She realized that training the body like a spring requires freeing up space and tension in tissues for joint alignment. Managing the body's internal pressure system is what allows it to act like a spring, leading to the development of PressEX, or Pressure Exercise.

At the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Dr. Meena explored fascia in the cadaver lab and lectured PT students about its importance. This filled a crucial gap in their education. Sharing her knowledge became a passion. She aimed to elevate the understanding of fascia in physical therapy, reflecting the mission of Body Spring.

In her practice, Dr. Meena used PressEX to deliver instant pain relief and improve biomechanics. Clients became raving fans, and patient Nancy Mulhern became the coordinator at Body Spring. Their testimonials validated the impact of PressEX. It was fulfilling for Dr. Meena to see lives transformed through Body Spring.

Thanks to mentor Michael Doke at Authentek, Body Spring now has a multifunctional space. They can now handle product assembly, fulfillment, sessions, classes, and content creation. This space supports their growing operations. It's a hub for advancing their mission.

Body Spring is embarking on its next phase by partnering with the University of North Texas Health Science Center's Biomechanical department. Together, they will conduct a pilot study on one of Body Spring's foot-to-hip PressEX protocols. This protocol is based on the science of Myofascial Force Transmission, where healthy tension created in one area of the body biomechanically influences another, aligning joints deep in the connective tissue fascia.
